Please be mindful of phishing attempts regarding CARES Act Funding and Student Employment opportunities. To verify phishing attempts, please reference the Cornell IT Security Phish Bowl. Cornell employers will not send electronic payroll checks by email and will not ask students to make gift card purchases on their behalf.

Study Abroad/Off Campus Programs

  • Financial aid is transferable during the fall and/or spring semesters for off-campus programs coordinated by the Cornell Abroad Office, an academic department, or approved field study/internship programs.
  • Program coordinators should provide the off-campus budgets and the list of participants to the Office of Financial Aid and Student Employment, at which time aid packages will be revised.
  • The Expected Family Contribution (EFC) remains the same for the academic year and aid is adjusted according to the higher or lower costs of the program. The work component for the semester(s) abroad will be converted to a loan. Students participating in an off-campus program should sign up for direct deposit through the Bursar’s Office.
