Winter Session and Summer Semester Financial Aid
Winter Session:
Matriculated students taking winter session courses for academic credit may be eligible for additional financial aid.
- A Winter Session Aid Application is required.
- Application Deadline: December 15, 2025
 
 - Must be enrolled in the following Spring semester.
 - Winter session aid is available in the form of student loans only.
 - Additional Cornell grant or endowed scholarship aid is not available via the Office of Financial Aid and Student Employment.
 - Approved winter session student loans are incorporated into Cornell Aid Offers as an increase to cost of attendance and loans for the Spring semester.
 
Summer Semester:
Matriculated students taking summer semester courses for academic credit may be eligible for additional financial aid (international students are not eligible to apply).
- A Summer Semester Aid Application is required.
- Application Deadline: May 1, 2026
 
 - Bursar and Cornell Card balances must be paid in full to register for summer courses.
 - Must be meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards, as determined annually at the end of the Spring semester.
 - If you are eligible for a federal Pell Grant in the prior academic year, you may be eligible for additional Pell funds.
 - Additional Cornell grant or endowed scholarship aid is not available via the Office of Financial Aid and Student Employment.
 - Student loan borrowers must be enrolled at least half-time (six credits).
 - Approved summer session aid is incorporated into Cornell Aid Offers as an additional semester with a distinct cost of attendance, expected family contribution, and evaluation of need. Cornell does not meet one hundred percent of demonstrated need for the summer semester.
